The service life of the ceramic roller conveyor in the glass tempering furnace is closely related to the usage, maintenance, and application environment of the equipment.

Ceramic roller cleaning steps:

1. Before touching the ceramic roller conveyor of the tempering furnace, clean your hands first. If there are oil stains or dust on your hands during lifting, it will contaminate the roller conveyor and increase the difficulty of cleaning (It is recommended to wear disposable latex gloves to better protect your hands and the roller conveyor.) Use a fiber towel (car wash towel, non shedding) and purified water to wipe the ceramic roller conveyor first and clean the dust on it.

2. If there are attachments on the roller conveyor that cannot be wiped off, touch it with your hand to feel if there is any unevenness. If there is a protruding substance, use a scouring pad (dishwashing cloth) with purified water and apply appropriate pressure to wipe it back and forth. be careful ⚠️: During the cleaning period, it is forbidden to dry wipe or polish without water. It is necessary to lightly grind and spray water at the same time to cooperate. This is because the material of scouring pad is relatively softer than sandpaper, which will not scratch the ceramic roller conveyor and has a good effect on removing foreign objects. After cleaning, touch and feel again with your hand. If there is still a protrusion on the roller conveyor, you can use sandpaper to polish it. The sandpaper is made of diamond (Mohs hardness of diamond: 10, Mohs hardness of fused silica: 7), which will wear the surface of the roller table. It is recommended to use 800-2000 mesh sandpaper for polishing. The polishing method is still wet grinding, and water spray is used while polishing. Water not only provides lubrication and protection, but also carries away the polished particles along with the water. If the attachment is granular, 2000 grit sandpaper can be used directly. If the attachment volume is relatively large, 800 grit sandpaper can be used to clean it first, and then 2000 grit sandpaper can be used to lightly polish and repair surface scratches. When using sandpaper, a sandpaper pad can be placed on the back of the sandpaper, and the sponge on the pad has a cushioning effect, reducing surface scratches on the roller conveyor while cleaning.

3. If there are stains on the surface of the roller conveyor that cannot be wiped off and have no unevenness when touched by hand, they can be wiped dry with a rubber. If the rubber can reduce stains but is not thorough enough, you can use the rubber dipped in alcohol liquid to wipe the stains, and then clean with purified water after wiping. Before installing the ceramic roller conveyor into the furnace, it is necessary to ensure that the roller conveyor is dry. If it is damp, a hair dryer can be used for drying. Attention: When cleaning and polishing the ceramic roller conveyor, it must be done outside the tempering furnace and not inside the furnace. If dust falls inside the furnace during polishing, and the air circulation brings the dust back to the roller conveyor after heating up, only a large amount of glass dragging can reduce the dust inside the furnace, increase costs, and affect production!

The maintenance of glass tempering furnaces includes heating elements, insulators, insulation layers, thermocouples, component protective covers, etc. It is very important to clean the furnace inside the glass heating section, especially the tempering furnace with refractory fiber lining, because the dust of the fiber lining will fall on the surface of the roller table (fused silica has a certain viscosity and electrostatic adsorption force at high temperature), resulting in marks on the lower surface of the glass. If the insulation material is found to be damaged, use a vacuum cleaner to remove the loose dust at the damaged location, and then repaint the surface of the insulation material with silica sol to make it harder. Use a vacuum cleaner to thoroughly remove dust from the furnace, including the dust hidden under the lower furnace thermocouple. If the dust removal is not thorough, the air will flow inside the furnace after heating, and the dust will be blown away and re accumulated on the roller conveyor and glass.

A rough roller surface can affect the contact surface between the glass and the roller, and may also produce defects. The damage or looseness of the steel sleeve is also an important factor affecting the normal operation of the roller conveyor. To avoid this possibility, it is necessary to ensure that the furnace cannot be opened at high temperatures to expose the roller steel sleeve to high temperatures.

The service life of the ceramic roller conveyor in the glass tempering furnace largely depends on the daily cleaning and maintenance of the equipment. Therefore, everyone must pay attention to the daily maintenance of the equipment during use.
