1. Scope
This standard clarifys the term, definition, classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, mark, packing, transportage, storage of the heat strengthened glass.
This standard is suitable for the heat strengthened glass which for architecture; for the glass used for other industry (other than architecture), pls refer to this standard according to the product features.
2. Normalizative quoted document
GB/T 1216 outer diameter microcalliper
GB/T 8170 Rules for rounding off of numberical values
GB 15763.2-2005 Safety glass used for architecture section 2: Tempered glass
3. Term & definition
The following terms and definitions are suitable for this standard.
3.1 Heat strengthened glass
Through controlling the heating and cooling process to form a permanent compressional stress on the surface of glass, so as to improve its mechanicalstrength & heat-shock resisting ability, and it has the particular Fragment size.
4. Classification
Accordig to its production technology, the heat strengthened glass could be classified as: vertical heat strengthened glass and horizontal strengthened glass.
5. Material
The sheet glass used for heat strengthened glass should meet the requirements of corresponding product standard.
6. Requirements
The each performance and test method of heat strenthened glass should comply with the clauses in Sheet 1
Sheet 1: Technical requirements & test methods
Item | Technical requirements
Thickness deviation | 6.1 | 7.1 |
Size & allowable deviation | 6.2 | 7.2 |
Edge quality | 6.3 | 7.3 |
Appearance quality | 6.4 | 7.4 |
Straightness | 6.5 | 7.5 |
Bending strength | 6.6 | 7.6 |
Surface stress | 6.7 | 7.7 |
Fragment status | 6.8 | 7.8 |
Heat shock resistance | 6.9 | 7.9 |
6.1 Thickness deviation
The thickness deviation of the finished product should comply with the corresponding standard of the used sheet glass.
6.2 Size & allowable deviation
6.2.1 Side length allowable deviation
The Side length allowable deviation of the rectangle product should comply with the clauses in sheet 2
Sheet 2: Side length allowable deviation (Unit: mm)
Thickness | Side length (L)
L≤1000 | 1000<L≤2000 | 2000<L≤3000 | L>3000
3、4、5、6 | +1.0 -2.0 | ±3.0 | ±4.0
8、10、12 | +2.0 -3.0 |
6.2.2 Diagonal allowable deviation
The Diagonal allowable deviation of the rectangle product should comply with the clauses in sheet 3
Sheet 3: Diagonal allowable deviation (Unit: mm)
Nominal thickness | Side length (L)
L≤1000 | 1000<L≤2000 | 2000<L≤3000 | L>3000
3、4、5、6 | 2.0 | 3.0 | 4.0 | 5.0 |
8、10、12 | 3.0 | 4.0 | 5.0 | 6.0 |
6.2.3 Round hole
6.2.3.1 Summarize
This clause is only suitable for the product which nominal thickness is not less than 4mm. The edge quality of the hole should be negotiated by seller and buyer.
6.2.3.2 Hole diameter
Normally, the hole diameter should not less than the nominal thickness of glass, and the allowable deviation of hole diameter should comply with the clauses of sheet 4. if the hole diameter less than the nominal thickness, the allowable deviation of hole diameter should be negotiated by seller and buyer.
Sheet 4 Hole diameter and its allowable deviation (Unit: mm)
Nominal hole diameter (D) | Allowable deviation |
4≤D≤50 | ±1.0 |
50<D≤100 | ±2.0 |
D>100 | Negotiated by seller and buyer |
